I have become a walking first aid kit.
I almost didn’t bring my first aid kit because I felt like I was overpacking, but I’m glad I did bring it. Most of my classmates didn’t bring any first aid supplies.
About half of my class has become temporarily sick, felt nauseous, or sustained a minor injury. Although most bathrooms we have seen were nice and had toilet paper, some do not have it or may be out of soap so supplies for that are handy as well.
In my mini backpack:
Hand sanitizer
Baby wipes
Tissues
Adhesive bandages
Pain reliever tablets
Antacid tablets
Pseudoephedrine tablets
Wrap bandage
Moleskin
Sunscreen
Lotion
Lip balm with SPF
Water and/or Pocari Sweat
Scarf and/or wide-brimmed hat
Feminine hygiene products
Most of these are mini/travel sized. If they did not come packaged that way, I put them in small plastic bags or small GoTubbs, so most of it fits in a small zippered pouch.
I keep additional supplies in the car or in our flat. This kit has been very useful and I plan to keep it in my day pack for next time I travel.
